Description Of Work:
We are a very energy conscious family and have done as much as we possibly could with our house ourselves to make it energy efficient. We contacted a reputable local energy engineer who audited our house last year and gave a us a road map as to what was needed to make our house as energy efficient as possible given its age and construction. Our house is 11 years old and no one thought about attic penetrations or adequate insulation when it was designed and built. He provided a list of companies in the local area who would be able to do the work at a variety of price points.

When asked if he would come back out after the work was done to check it over, he stated he would be more than happy to, but not if we selected Weatherization Experts! He stated that they normally did such good work that he would be wasting his time and our money! With that endorsement, we contacted Todd Cox for an estimate. Of note, we tried to contact the other company that was also highly rated by the engineer and they never answered our repeated phone calls. Two other companies gave me quotes over the phone, sight unseen, that were so low-ball that they were laughable.

Member Comments:
Todd Cox and his associate Miles promptly came to our home at the appointed time and thoroughly surveyed both the attic and the interior. Using an infrared camera, he actually pointed out two areas where there was no insulation in my walls whatsoever, due to shoddy work on the part of the original builder. Using the engineer's reports and his own survey, he gave us written estimation of the work to be done and a breakdown of its various components, pointing out potential returns on our investment for various options. He flat out told us several areas where simply not worth the money required to fix them.

There was no pressure to "Gold Plate" the work, just good information, easily verifiable on the internet from reliable sources. We selected what we wanted done and gave the go ahead for the work. His crew showed up at the appointed time and worked like demons to get the job done. It took two full days as estimated, and at the end of day 1, even after I told them not to worry about it, they cleaned up my garage (entry point to the attic) so that you did not even know they had been there.

I used to be in the building trades many years ago and at the end of day 1, I crawled around the attic to see what had been done. (after all, it is pretty easy to hide a lot of things under a blanket of insulation) I was extremely impressed by the quality of the work.
When faced with a problem in a particular area that I had requested they insulate, they went the extra mile to get it done right.

Cleanup after day 2 was also impressive. Miles came at the end of the second day and used his infrared-cam to quality check the work, room by room. The results were absolutely astounding!

Subsequently, we had some cold weather and we are now just starting our hot weather here. We have already noticed that first the furnace and now our AC are not working nearly as much as they would have been prior to the work. Our house is already much more comfortable and as an added bonus, is quieter. We are anxious to see what this will do to our utility bills during the upcoming cooling season.

To sum it up these guys are true professionals who do quality work for a fair price. I would not hesitate to hire them for either retrofitting an older home or for new-construction.
