Soundproofing

In addition to its superior insulation properties, wet-spray cellulose is popular as a strong sound barrier. It can be applied to new or existing buildings, in walls, ceilings and betwseen floors. When sound control is important, we can help. Here are a few examples:

Residential:

  • Child’s room adjacent to living area
  • Media room
  • Home next to fire station, busy street or railroad track

Commercial:

  • Factory/plant with on-site office
  • Conference rooms
  • Hotel rooms

Multi-family:

  • Between units(apartments, townhomes, condominiums)

Sound Transmission Class (STC) is a laboratory measurement used to study the resistance of a wall, ceiling, or floor to the passage of sound. The higher the STC number, the more sound is deadened. The table below gives examples of STC ratings.
